The Meade Activity Center (MAC) hosted a grand opening “Ribbon Cutting” for its new Tennis Courts on Thursday, October 16th. The MAC has partnered with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to make the newest addition to its current facilities. Jason Miller, Southern Section Program Director and Sharon Rahman, Kentucky Section Executive Director were on hand to commemorate the event. The courts will be a major asset to a community in which tennis is making a major comeback. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to add to our current facilities,” said MAC Executive Director Aaron Greenwell. “The new courts are a great asset to be utilized by our whole community. We expect to see participants from generations young and old, and definitely look forward to a full slate of programs and special events in 2015.” MAC Chairman of the Board John Beavin sees this this as part of a much larger end-goal. “By completing our tennis courts, we have taken a big step in the right direction toward completing phase one of our new Health & Wellness Facilities. We are excited to partner with the USTA, and we are very thankful to have built such strong partnerships over the past few years with credible agencies and organizations.” The MAC Courts are open to public play. A daily fee is associated to those who are not currently MAC members. For more information about MAC Membership visit their website @ meadeactivitycenter.org
