The 6th Annual MAC Matters Gala was a wonderful evening for the Meade Activity Center and our local community. Community members from all across our region turned out in bunches for the annual Meade Activity Center (MAC) Matters Gala, held in Brandenburg, Ky. on April 24th. With a sellout crowd on-hand, Michael Johnson provided a very interesting story and Q & A while guests enjoyed the Monte Carlo entertainment and auction events.
Todd and Kari Wagner played a huge role in the success of the event, including providing the guest of honor, US Track & Field Gold Medalist Michael Johnson. Kari, a Meade County native who grew up in Battletown, KY has been an advocate since the MAC’s inception. The Wagners have provided previous guests of honor including Kenny Perry, Dan Rather, Don Henley, and Monica Seles. Early projections have this year’s gala yielding over $50,000 to be utilized toward operations, new facility construction, and financial scholarships applicable for programs and events designed for youth, adults, and seniors.
The MAC would like to thank our 2015 Gala sponsors. Todd Wagner Foundation, Your Community Bank, Monument Chemical, Powers Paper Company, The Lusk Group, Rivertown Spirits, Brandenburg Pharmacy Care, LG&E and KU Energy, Brandenburg Family Medicine, The Cecilian Bank, Hardin Memorial Hospital, Farm Bureau Insurance, Bluegrass Cellular, and Brandenburg Telephone Co.
A special thanks goes out to volunteers including Gala Coordinators Aaron Greenwell, Lisha Duke, and Gail Ferguson, Auction coordinators Mike & Diana Greenwell, and all of the individuals who gave their time and talent to the gala.
